In the Words of Grandma Rita ..."Weddings are so much more fun than funerals!"

Indeed, the ol' lady knows what she's talking about.

Two of my best girlfriends from my "Keyport girls" pelican flock were married this past Halloween weekend in two very different, very entertaining weddings.

Tara's wedding kicked off the weekend with 11 bridesmaids and a surprise gold-medal winning contortionist:

Guess who caught the bouquet?

Well ok, it wasn't that I caught it so much as that I was the fastest one to fish it out from under the table.  It was over all our heads.  Tay-ray's got some muscles!

Congrats to the newly weds!!

Heather's 1930's throwback style wedding took place on actual Halloween.  Regarding her wedding gift we had the following converstaion:

    • so i was thinking of what i wanted to get you and petey for your wedding day andd i saw something but then thought you might either a- love it or B- want to burn and bury it
and then i thought of another thing which I thinnk would be cool and i think you would like but prolly would have never asked for so i dunno i really wanted to ask you but also want to keep it a surprise. so im not gonna tell you what it is, but also if there is something you and petey would like or need let me know and if not it'll be a surprises!!!
    • Bahahahhaha well hopefully I won't want to burn it and bury it hahahha. We don't have anything we specifically need, but we are constantly in search of old taxidermy animals, pickled specimens in jars, or any other kind of oddities we can find to add to our collections, so we can never have to much of that stuff. Other than that, surprises work for us too!
    • Ok sweet I got you what I'd think you might burn and bury ahahah well see how it goes .

I shipped Heather's wedding present to my mom so I wouldn't have to explain to the airport security patrol what it was.  My mom, in her hyper-curious self opened it claiming the box arrived damaged and that is was halfway anyways so she just had a peek.  .....

Then she freaked out and hid the box in the garage until I arrived and told all her friends at work that I had mailed her a dead rat...

Correction, it was a mummified chupacarbra fetus....

      Adverstisement:

UP FOR AUCTION IS A RARE MUMMIFIED CHUPACABRA BABY FETUS.  IT IS 100% ORGANIC. DOES NOT HAVE ANY SMELL. I DID STICK A STICK PIN IN IT TO PICK IT UP SAFELY. BUYER CAN REMOVE IF THEY LIKE.

Heather's response:  "Jewels, your gifts were AMAZING, like above and beyond.  WHERE THE HELL DID YOU GET THAT ANIMAL FETUS?!

      dressed the part

      Here comes the bride!

      My Girls: <3
In between weddings NJ had a freak winter blizzard.  My sister's rugby game was not canceled.  One of her team mates was so cold she could not stop shivering and throwing up and could not feel her feet.  Safe. Fun.  Not.

It was also Halloween.  But no one dressed up...except my ambitious little clown of a sister:
yikes

nothing amiss here
