Sunday was another fun-filled day. It was so fun we slept until noon. It sounds late, but considering we didn't get home from the Twister Party until after 4am, it's actually quite close to the recommended duration of a good night's sleep. We had some bread and jam for breakfast, stopped at Tiger (an awesomely cheap knick knack store....yes you will most likely get a souvenir from there), and then walked downtown to meet co-workers at Tivoli, the famous Danish amusement park that first opened in 1843. It is the second oldest amusement park in the world. The oldest park, Bakken, is located a short train ride away in Klampenborg, Denmark. Not surprising that the "happiest people in the world" invented amusement parks.

Tivoli's founder, Georg Carstensen (b. 1812 - d. 1857), obtained a five-year charter to create Tivoli by telling King Christian VIII that "when the people are amusing themselves, they do not think about politics." True enough. Ironically, we had a nice little discussion about Obama and the health care bill while sipping a cappuccino, munching on expensive cakes, and watching the Danish children's marching band go by dressed up like Danish royal guards inside the park. Danes love Obama.
After Tivoli we went to a different co-worker's house for dinner. And what a treat that was. They live in a apartment complex that shares a little courtyard playground area that's all fenced in. They have two little girls aged 5 and 2 who were very entertaining to watch.....

At one point while the adults sipped on wine and munched on chips, we turned around to find that the two year old is only wearing a t-shirt and has taken off her underpants and is now wearing them on her head covering her eyes while her big sister leads her around by the hand. We all had a good laugh and motivated by the applause the two year old let go of her sister's hand and started running around. It was all fun and games until someone got hurt....tripped over a scooter and scraped a knee....crying baby. Later in the night she crapped her pants in the corner of the yard...she was not wearing a diaper. That was also pretty entertaining, but not the right spot to be laughing....
The girls eventually went to bed so the adults could play some games. The Viking game is a game where you have to throw sticks to knock over the other team's bricks. I won't go through all the rules, but it was fun.

The poor girls who were supposed to be asleep could not stand that the adults were outside playing games while they had to go to bed. This to them was shear torture. They kept calling each other names so they could run outside and tattle tail to their parents...any excuse to come outside. At one point the 5 year old came out to tell her mom that her 2 year old sister called her "Mor f*@cker." Mor means mom and well curse words are universal....
